[ Poe grins. ]
I dunno. We can get pretty weird.
[ TOO MUCH INFORMATION? TOO MUCH INFORMATION.
He turns off the stove and claims the last of the bacon before bringing the plate to the table, dropping into his own chair and setting it between them.
Poe exhales and leans back, taking a piece of bacon and crunching down on it. He's trying to figure out something to say, something that shows how much it means to have Finn's permission, even if he doesn't need it.
He settles on-- ]
Thanks, Finn.

[ Cisco's already gone through the list of everyone he urgently needed to contact about Eddie being hurt, and the list of everyone he non-urgently ought to contact. But his phone is still in his hands. He hesitates a moment or two, before he taps in Finn's username. He's not sure what he's doing here. Spreading the news. Looking for comfort. Just killing time until he's allowed in to the recovery room. Who knows. ]
eddie got hurt
big shootout in the city i guess, don't know if you heard
he's gonna be okay
just wanted to let you know i guess

[ Cisco thinks about objecting, telling Finn he doesn't have to, that he'll be fine on his own. But he's been sitting here alone for hours in a fog so complete that some part of Cisco's brain knows it can't be entirely healthy. So maybe he's not really doing so fine, after all. ]
okay.
thanks
don't bring food though
unless you want it
i think i'd just be sick.

[ When Cisco hears the door open so quickly, he looks up, eyes round with fear for a moment until he recognizes fear. He'd thought, in an instant - a doctor, rushing past, something gone wrong in recovery, complications, the illusion of safety exposed as nothing but a lie....
But it's just Finn. Who Cisco had known was coming, but it's still a little unexpected, seeing him in this strange, quiet place. Cisco watches, silent, still-faced, as Finn makes his way over, drops down and sets a hand on his shoulder, pointing all that intensity and all that emotion right at him. It would be daunting, in other circumstances. But right now, Cisco's feeling so numb and overwhelmed that he takes it entirely in stride. ]
Hey, Finn.
[ His eyes are dry, his breathing even, but there's something a little... disconnected about him. Something off. The only sign of his stress and worry are his nails - habitually kept short, know bitten down to a painful point, looking a lot worse for wear. ]
I just got word. This other guy, Officer Mathis, he didn't make it. But they said everybody else is stable.
[ Not that that necessarily matters to Finn, but, what else is there to say? And he had to say something. Besides, it's not impossible Finn might've known the guy. Only the polite thing to do. ]

[ There is something so careful in the way Finn asks that; Cisco doesn't know why, exactly, but it pierces through that shell of numbness around him, makes his eyes suddenly go hot with tears and his throat feel tight. He manages to swallow back the surge of emotion, but he doesn't trust his voice. Mutely, he nods, and when Finn hugs him, Cisco squeezes his friend tightly, eyes shut. Finn will be able to feel the way Cisco is shaking - all the adrenaline and stress have left him a little trembly.
Hoarsely, he manages: ]
Thank you for coming.
[ And he's glad that Finn offered; he wouldn't have known how to ask, but it's good to have someone there, even if they are not speaking. It helps, more than Cisco would've thought, not to be alone. There aren't many people he'd be okay with letting see him like this. But Finn will understand. Cisco's sure of that. Finn had trusted Cisco, when he was having such a hard time with those fireworks. He'd trusted Cisco with the story of his past. And Cisco is willing to trust him, in return. More than most other people he's met in this place, Cisco is fairly certain that Finn is, deep down to his bones, a good person. ]

[Somehow, on Finn's bed:
A box from Flour Up, inside are several very important cupcakes, along with a note:]
Sorry I nearly got you killed.
I made these with weed butter, this is your warning.

[ maybe she forgot or maybe she waited until the end so she wouldn't have to talk about it, but wrapped neatly in paper and ding dong ditched at his doorway, finn finds a gift addressed to him in aurebesh that somehow manages to be loopy. inside he finds a present, old and grass-stained and obviously well loved, with a note tied to it that reads: ]
He's called Stormie and he was my best friend.
[ it's signed with her name because it's obviously from her and there is no way around it, but there is nothing else to the note, no real explanation, just her equally loopy, condensed signature. happy friend day. ]

You know how to do spy shit, right?
That's the kinda thing I mean. I think someone's been stealing designs and shit from our business and normally I'd tell Lup but I wanna be like at least 50% more subtle than what she's capable of, you know?
Wow you really have met her
I'm thinking like we find out if I'm actually onto something and then we fuck 'em up. Or a hire a lawyer, whatever.
