[ Finn lets the dry remark roll off his back for the most part, one brief flat look aside.
It reminds him of Solo. Not always a bad thing. Not always something he tends to drop without any argument. Depends on the moment. ]
I don't mind the close quarters. It's just-- good to take a breather from the rest of it. [ Different close quarters than he's used to. Messier, less certain, more personal. Good, absolutely, but a lot. Anything life in the First Order was, the Resistance is its full opposite.
Sometimes it's good to step back and process. ]
I'm Finn. Good to have you with us.
[ He's sitting with maybe the only person in the galaxy not likely to need an introduction. And if that's not a weird realization to have, he doesn't know what is. ]
[There's a bit of that dryness again, but it's not entirely sarcastic. There's something earnest about the boy, something that makes Luke want to respond in kind. And assuming everyone knows who he is is both arrogant and doesn't at all send the right message. That he's part of the team, that he is trying to be one of them.
You'll never be one of them.
But the boy seems sincere, and it does give Luke pause. In a sense, it's absurd to be welcomed--he'd been 'with' the rebellion, the alliance, whatever, for probably twice as long as the kid had existed. On the other hand, after such an absence, after what he's done, acceptance is not assured. So he is forced to appreciate it.]
I'm glad to hear you say that. Finn. Unusual name.
